KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The governor of central Maidan Wardak province on Sunday survived a car bombing but three traffic officers were killed in the capital of the province, officials said.

Mohibullah Sharifzai, governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News that governor, Muzafaruddin Yamin came under a car bomb attack in Kotal area, on the outskirts of Maidan Shahr, the capital of the province around 3pm today.

He said the aim of the attack was the governor but he escaped unhurt from the incident. However, three traffic officers were killed in the attack, he added.

Some reports say that two bodyguards of the governor were also wounded in the incident.

No groups have so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
