Crime rate sees quadruple decrease in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Thirty-five criminal cases have been recorded in the first six months of the current year in northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Monday.

Police spokesman Noor Agha Faizi told Pajhwok Afghan News there was quadruple decrease in the last six months. At least 141 criminal cases had been registered in the second half of last year.

He said the cases included 39 murder incidents, 37 injuries, 10 rapes, one elopement, one death in a traffic accident and 45 other offenses.

Around 272 individuals had been detained in connection with the criminal cases the police spokesman added. The detainees included 81 men and 12 womeninfo-icon were among the detainees.

According to Faizi, about 35 criminal cases including eight incident of murder, 20 injuries, one rape and six others happened in the first six months of the ongoing year.

He said about 47 individuals had been detained in connection with 35 different cases. Police are trying to curb the crime rate with the cooperation of people.
