Pakistan to attend Moscow talks on Afghanistan

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon will attend consultation on the Afghan peace process in Moscow on October 25, a media report said on Tuesday.

Apart from Pakistan, representatives from China, Russia and the United States would take part in the he four-way discussions, Daily Times reported.

The participants will explore prospects for joint efforts for the resumption of the stalled talks between the US and the Talibaninfo-icon. Endeavours for intra-Afghan dialogue will also be discussed.

This will be fourth round of consultations on ending the war in Afghanistaninfo-icon, with Beijing hosting the last one in July this year.

Separately, China plans to host an intra-Afghan dialogue, which will facilitate a face-to-face meeting between the Taliban and Afghan political leaders and members of civil societyinfo-icon.

Representatives of the Afghan government will also attend the Beijing meeting. Chinese officials are expected share their plan with participants of the Moscow meeting.
