100 Daesh fighters including Pakistanis surrender

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 100 Daesh, or Islamic State (IS), rebels including Pakistani citizens have joined the peace process in eastern Nangarhar province, an official claimed on Tuesday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants including 13 womeninfo-icon surrendered to Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in Achin district on Monday night.

He said 13 Pakistani nationals and 17 women and children were among the those who renounced the insurgency.

On the other hand, a statement from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in Kabulinfo-icon said the IS rebels surrendered during operations in the district. It added 17 women and 28 children were among the ex-rebels.
