Kapisa police chief injured in clash with Taliban

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The police chief for central Kapisa province was injured during a face-to-face firefight with Talibaninfo-icon militants on Wednesday morning, an official said.

Brig. Gen Farid Ahmad Mashal sustained injuries in a battle war with Taliban militants in Nijrab district early in the morning, said Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior.

He told Pajhwok Afghan News that 10 Taliban militants were killed and another 13 wounded in clearing operations conducted by security forces in Dara Tapa area of the district late on Tuesday night.

He added the police chief after treatment had returned to job.
