KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The New Zealand Defence Force has promised clearing unexploded ordnance in Afghanistaninfo-icon, says a media report,

The decision comes days after seven children were killed by unexploded devices left behind the New Zealand Force.

In compliance with directives from Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, the military agreed to speed up the clearing process, according to Stuff News.

Earlier, an investigation by Stuff Circuit found 17 civilians were either killed or injured by ordnance attributed to ranges where New Zealand troops operated.

But the Defence Force says the Provincial Reconstructioninfo-icon Team (PRTinfo-icon) withdrew from Banyan in 2013 after clearing firing ranges.

The New Zealand-led PRT came to Bamyan in 2003 on what was then called a "hearts and minds" mission.

Stuff Circuit documentary Life and Limb claimed the seven children were killed in an explosion near the Beersheba Range in April 2014.
