Muzdah’s killing widely condemned

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah, former president Hamid Karzai, National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohaib and several other politicians have strongly condemned the killing of writer and political expert Wahid Muzdah.

Hailing from northern Baghlan province, Waheed Muzdah, was shot dead by motorcyclists close to his residence behind the Russian Embassy in Darulaman locality of Kabul City on Wednesday evening.

A statement from Presidential Palace says that President Ghani strongly condemned the terrorist attack and directed security and justice institutions to chase, arrest and punish the perpetrators.

The president offered his condolences to the family, friends and relatives of Muzdah and prayed to Allah to rest his soul in paradise.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) rushed to Muzdah’s house soon after his assassinations and condoled with his family.

A statement from CEO office said that Muzdah was a renowned writer, expert of political affairs and never believed on terrorist acts.

National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib also expressed deep sorrow over the assassination of Waheed Muzdah and said: “We are confident that perpetrators behind this act will face punishment, government is committed to the safety of its citizens, their civil rights, freedom of expression and political activities. Such acts of terror will never weaken government resolves.”

Former President Hamid Karzai also condemned the killing of Waheed Muzdah and expressed deep sorrow.

He said: “The right to living, freedom of expression, support to the public views and ideas are the achievement of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistaninfo-icon and security forces should defend them.”

He said recent attacks on politicians and political experts are a clear violation of human rights.
