Police beat education officials in Paktika’s Sra Rawza district

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Police in the Sra Rawza district of southeastern Paktika province have beaten officials of the Educationinfo-icon Department, an official said on Thursday.

Paktiak Education Official Mohammad Naseem Wajid told Pajhwok Afghan News police in the Sra Rawza district beaten district Education Director Fazal Rabi and some workers.

He demanded investigation by the governor house and the National Directorate of Security because Fazal Rabi is injured, his disk and chair is broken.

Fazal Rabi, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “We were in our office when suddenly police entered and started beating us without a reason.”

“Few minutes later, the district police chief came and order his personnel to beat us. We want this incident to be fully investigated,” he said.

 Provincial Council Head Aziz Aziz said some residents of Sra Rawza district complained about the incident to them.

“These incidents should be investigated because it shows the brutality of police,” he said.

Police Spokesperson Shah Mahmood Aryan said police did not injure the head of education director of Sra Rawza district.

“He injured his head himself. We are investigating the incident and will punish the guilty ones,” said Aryan.
