MAIMANA (Pajhwok): The Talibaninfo-icon have executed a woman in the Kohistan district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Friday.

District Chief Rohullah Mirzad told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban shadow district chief Mullahinfo-icon Abdul Rahim executed the girl on the charges of elopement.

The victim named Mashal from Khum Safaid locality left her house two days back due to violence in the family. She arrived in the Lolash locality with another man.

Mashal was married from the past two years and her husband got second marriage which was the main reason of violence in the family.

The resident of locality, who wished not to be named said that one of the Taliban leader wanted to marry Mashal, but when she refused to marry with the Taliban member she was caught and killed by the Taliban.

But Mullah Abdul Rahim said that Mashal was accused of keeping contacts with strange men one year ago, but this time when she wanted to flee with a strange man Abdul Ahad she was captured and handed over to her family after the decision of their court. He said Mashal’s brother and father killed her.

Zabihullah Jawad, head of the Afghanistaninfo-icon Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), expressed concern over growing incidents of murder by kangaroo courts and added 23 incidents of murder and suicide had been registered in Kohistan this year.
