KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Nearly a dozen Afghan migrants have been rescued from a refrigerated truck in Germany, a media report said on Tuesday.

The truck, which picked the 11 Afghans aged 14 to 31 in Serbia, was parked at a service station in Bavaria, Deutsche Welle reported.

Federal police told the media outlet the Afghans, who were found near the Austrian border in Bavaria, had been taken into police custody.

On its way to Belgium from Turkey, the vehicle was loaded with fruit. A continued journey could have led to fatal consequences for the passengers.
