‘20 Taliban including shadow governor killed in Laghman airstrike’

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Twenty Talibaninfo-icon, including the group’s designate governor, have been killed in security forces airstrike in eastern Laghman province, military official said on Friday

Maj. Haroon Yousufzai, spokesperson for the Selab Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News an airstrike was conducted on the Taliban position in the Badiabad locality of Alingar district.

He said 20 Taliban, including the group’s designate showdown Governor Zainulabidin, was killed and seven others injured.

Governor Spokesperson Asadullah Dawlatzai said 20 Taliban had been killed and seven others injured in the airstrike. He was unaware of the killing of the Taliban’s designate shadow governor.

The Taliban rejected security forces and government claims.
