Taliban’s Military Commission head among 3 killed in Herat airstrike

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Three key members of the, including the group’s Military Commission head, has been killed in the Pashton Zarghon district of western Herat province, an official said on Monday.

Governor Spokesperson Jilani Farhad told Pajhwok Afghan News the Talibaninfo-icon’s Military Commission Head Mullahinfo-icon Nabi Jan and two other key members were killed during an airstrike in the eastern district of the province.

Farhad said military operation against insurgents was underway in the Haft Gulla locality of Pashton Zarghon district. He added the Taliban key members Aqa Walli and Syed Shah were also killed.

The Taliban have not spoken about the incident.

Governor Abdul Qayyoum Rahimi during a press conference at Zafar Military Corps on Monday warned if the Taliban refused to reconcile they would be eradicated.

The governor said that operation codenamed Tufan Harirud had been launched in the province against insurgents.
