KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Second vice-president Sarwar Danish on Sunday rejected the idea of reduction in violence as ‘ambiguous’ and ‘deceptive plan’ to escape from real peace.

He was addressing participants of a ceremony ‘Revealing Strategy for Protection of Human Rights Defenders’ organized by the Amnesty International in Kabul. Danish said an agreement over the Emirate system was not peace, but intensification of war.

He said Emirate or any system based on dictatorship violated democracy and human rights and would not bring peace but will deteriorate the war in Afghanistaninfo-icon.

“The US may sign agreement with the Talibaninfo-icon with such input from the Taliban and their supporters, but this would bring no relief to the Afghan people who are the main victim of the conflict,” he said.

About developments in USD-Taliban talks, Danish said, “We as the state and nation of Afghanistan undoubtedly welcome peace in the country and stability and the end of the destructive war is the long standing wish of our people.”

However, about the mechanism of peace negations, he said there would be no trust and hope for peace in the country until direct intra-Afghan talks and nationwide ceasefire were agreed upon.

Danish said the government, the people, civil societyinfo-icon, political parties and tribal groups had been left out in the peace process and establishment of peace in such condition was not possible.

“The only peace the Afghan people will accept is all sides stop war and become part of a government based on democratic system,” he said.

“Election, freedom of speech, freedom of press and womeninfo-icon’s rights and rights minorities are basic things which should not be ignored,” Danish said.
