54 ‘Pakistani’ landmines seized in Kunar raid

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Intelligence operatives have seized 54 Pakistani landmines during operations in eastern Kunar province, the spy-network said on Monday.

A statement from the National Directorate of security (NDSinfo-icon) accused the Pakistani intelligence service, ISIinfo-icon, of providing 54 landmines to Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Mahmood in the province.

The statement said the landmines were given to the commander for targeting tribal elders, security forces and uplift projects across the province. It added the landmines were seized during NDS Special Unit raids.

The Talibaninfo-icon have not yet commented in this regard.

The NDS statement did not reveal the exact time of the operations.
