KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A new survey reveals 98 percent of craftsmen worry about the future of the country and say delay in the announcement of election results has affected their work.

The survey was conducted by Sazman-i-Fekri Organization which 250 craftsmen were interviewed in a period of five months in capital Kabul.

The survey is about keeping hostage the result of presidential election by the Election Commissions and peace process.

Khalilullah Shankar, head of the Sazman-i-Fekri Organization said that the survey showed more than 98 percent of craftsmen worried about the future of the country and the main reason behind their concern was postponement of election results by election commissions.

He said a number of owners of small businesses were also interviewed in the survey and they too worried about political instability in Afghanistaninfo-icon which caused them to lose interest for investment in the country.

Respondents in the survey believe that presidential election would not produce any results and election commissions manipulated the poll for pushing it to the second round which will never be conducted, he said.

Shankar said that the country was in crisis of illegitimacy, power, acceptance and national stability. People participated in election for opening a new page but unfortunately election commissions took hostage the results, he added.

“We are tired of the delay of election results announcement by election commissions, they should end taking hostage the results and they would be responsible for any new crisis surface in the country if not announce the results in the next two weeks,” he said.

Besides ambiguous election, the peace process is also failed in Afghanistan and no any tangible results have so far revealed on the regard, he said.

Abdul JabbarMarzai, another member of Sazman-i-Fekri Organization said that delaying the election results and pushing the poll for a second round would be a blow to political stability, national consensus, national interests and economy.

He said that delaying the election results announcement caused lower investment, higher displacement of people and increased poverty in the country.

However, Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon) rejected the claims of the organization that the commission manipulated the election and said election commissions paid more care for transparency and justice in the process.

Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) in a conference two days ago said that they would observe full impartiality in the election and no one’s rights would be violated in the process.

Presidential election held on September 2, 2019 but final results of the poll yet to be announced.
