Strongmen to be dealt with decisively: Mohib

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamudllah Mohib on Sunday ordered security forces to take serious action against powerful individuals and law violators in northern region of the country.

A statement from the NSA Media Office received by Pajhwok Afghan New said Mohib visited northern Balkh province to assess security situation of five provinces northern provinces Sunday.

The statement said provincial governors, police chiefs, intelligence heads of Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Samangan and Sar-i-Pul provinces and commander of the Shahin Military Corps attended the gathering and provided information about security situation of the five provinces to NSA Mohib.

Mohib was told the security situation has been better compared to the past and most of the areas have been also cleared of Talibaninfo-icon militants’ presence as a result of clearing operations.

Participants of the meeting urged Mohib to provide further support to security forces in the mentioned provinces.

They said foreign militants existed in these provinces, saying efforts were underway to deal with them in near future.

NSA Mohib appreciated security forces efforts regarding defeating militants and urged them to take serious steps against powerful individuals and those violating the law.

Mohib said the enemy’s fundamental aim in the northern part of the county was to destabilize transit highways.

Mohib assured participants of the meeting of Kabul’s further support with security forces the north part in future.
