Some Kabul districts long faced discrimination: Ghani

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Meeting with residents of Khak-i-Jabar, Mosai, Surabi and Chaharsiab districts of Kabul, President Ghani on Wednesday stressed crackdown on powerful individuals and said these districts faced discrimination.

President Ghani met with a number of residents from the four districts and 20th police district of Kabul as part of the “National Debate” program, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.

The statement quoted President Ghani as saying that land grabbing was no more tolerable as well as powerful individuals in Afghanistaninfo-icon.

 President Ghani said people of such places were fed up with grabbers and powerful individuals.

Adnan Sahil, Maulviinfo-icon QutratullahHimat, Khogai Babakarkhel, Zabiullah Sahak and Dila Mohammad Utmanzai as representatives from Khak-i-Jabar, Mosai, Surabi and Chaharsiab districts talked in the gathering.

People of Khak-i-Jabar urged President Ghani to recruit female teachers, construct Rojan dam, a gathering hall and small dams and Azr-i-Khak-i-Jabar district highway.

Ghani was asked to construct standard healthcare facilities and some roads in Surobai and Chahrasiab districts of Kabul.

The president told the gathering that these districts had been subjected to discrimination and ordered the authorities concerned to make a mechanism to address issues of people of the areas at the earliest.

The president said the presence of powerful individuals in the mentioned areas was no longer tolerable and all grabbed land would be retaken in the areas, the statement said.
