GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A number or residents of southern Ghazni province on Monday said the province was played with double standard about this year’s budget plan and only districts which had representatives in the parliament received the fund.

Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon or lower house of the parliament approved the budget plan for 1399 fiscal year.

After the approval of the plan, a list of projects for Ghazni province published on social media in which five projects were considered for the provincial capital, 14 projects for Jaghori district, five for Qarabagh district, six for Malistan and one each for Andar and Nahur districts.

A number of civil societyinfo-icon activists and residents of the province held a press conference about imbalance in the budget allocation for the province today.

Nader Khan Girowal, a civil society activist talking to the conference that the budget for the province was designed on the request of some specific individuals and it was not acceptable for them.

“The budget should be given to all districts, this budget is unacceptable for us and we will stand against it, we will protest,” he said.

Aminullah Bahar, another civil society activist said that the budget was given only to districts which had representatives in Wolesi Jirga.

“These representatives represent only a specific ethnic group, they are not our representatives,” he said.

Mohammad Ayan, another participant of the meeting said that the government had ignored many districts of Ghazni for years.

“No projects have been implemented in Pashtuninfo-icon populated districts for years, it is unjust to us,” he said.

A number of other participants of the conference held similar views and said the government should resolve their problems.

A number of Ghazni districts in the past too had ignored from the budget plan.
