Herat court punishes 9 kidnappers: AGO

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Nine kidnappers have been sentenced from six to 27 years of jail in western Herat province, an official said on Friday.

Jamshid Raouli, spokesperson for the Attorney General Office (AGO) told Pajhwok Afghan News that a group of nine kidnappers accused of kidnapping three persons were wanted for security forces.

He said upon their arrest, the alleged kidnappers were referred to the AGO’s branch that deal with Crimes against Internal and Externalinfo-icon Security.

He said the AGO after collecting evidence and proves against them referred the case to the court and demanded punishment for the alleged kidnappers.

On the bases of evidence and documents, the court sentences Arbab Mohammad to 28 years and two months in jail, Ghulam Farooq to 25 years and six months in jail, Nisar Ahmad to 23 years and six months in jail, Aziz ahmad to 25 years and ten years in jail, Mohammad Rafi and Farmaz were sentenced to 12 years in jail each, Fazal Ahmad got seven years and six months in jail and Abdul Zahir and Haji Asal were sentenced to six years in jail each.
