"Suspending entry to the Kingdom for the purpose of Umrah and visiting the Prophet's Mosqueinfo-icon temporarily", Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry said in a statement.

The new precautions are based on the recommendations of the competent healthinfo-icon authorities to apply the highest precautionary standards and take proactive preventive measures to prevent the emergence of the coronavirus in the Kingdom and its spread, the source said.

The statement said that the measures were taken for the protection of local people and people visiting Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah or for tourism purpose.
