KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The process of bringing back Afghan nationals stranded in India has been started, the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi said on Saturday.

Tariq Qaderi, deputy ambassador to India, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Afghanistaninfo-icon Foreign Ministry and the Embassy in New Delhi had briefly discussed the issue with Indian officials.

He said Afghan nationals stranded in India will be brought home on five special flights of KamAir airlines.

He said the process started today and would finish until the 5th of next month. He added they have rented some buses to collect the stranded Afghans in different parts of India to bring them to the airport.

He said 340 passengers would be brought on the first flight and their bringing process to the airport was conducted this morning.

He said the government of India had agreed to take home all Afghans stranded there. The Afghan citizens would be flown home on five Kam Air flights.

Qaderi asked the stranded Afghans to immediately contact the airline concerned. The flights would happen on March 26, 28, 30 and April 1 and 3.
