KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghanistaninfo-icon Chamber of Commerce and Investigation (ACCI) on Sunday urged the government to give commercial firms relief in taxes in order to keep food items’ prices stable in the country.

Amin Babak, ACCI spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that during the battle against COVID-19, the government should extend all possible relief in taxes to wheat commercial firms.

He termed basic food-items as necessity for people and urged the government to increase the volume of wheat imports to the country and supply them at reasonable prices.

He added in order to prevent price-hike, the government should work to create a clear mechanism and procedure in this regard.

He said the government should give the hand of cooperation to all small and big commercial firms to keep food items at reasonable prices.

He urged the government to give relief to all firms functioning in Kabul during the battle against COVID-19 in the country.

The ACCI and Ahmad Yar group on Saturday announced rent relief for business places under their ownership in Kabul.

The chamber will not take rent from business places in Nader Pashton area of Kabul and business places belonging to Ahmad Yar Group in Qala-i-Najar, Shahr-i-Naw and Abdulhaq Square for a month.
