KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok) At least 50 Afghan refugees have died as a result of the coronavirus in neighbouring Iran, says a top diplomat. Afghan Ambassador to Iran Abdul Ghafoor Lewal told Pajhwok Afghan News he had received unconfirmed information from the refugees’ department at the embassy. He said 50 refugees had lost their lives to the COVID-10 pandemic in Iran, one the worst-hit countries. Earlier, the Ministry for Refugees and Repatriation said 16 Afghan migrants had been killed in Iran due to the coronavirus. sa/mud
