Over 2,000 cargo vehicles stuck in Torkham, Chaman

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): More than 2,000 Afghanistaninfo-icon-bound cargo vehicles have been stuck on Torkham and Chaman borders for a month.
Amid coronavirus fears, 1,587 vehicles loaded with transit containers en-route to Chaman and 526 vehicles to Torkham have been stranded in border areas.
Data from the Directorate General of Transit Trade shows that over 900 vehicles returning with empty containers have been stuck on the Afghan side of the border.
Almost 5,600 drivers and cleaners are stranded on both sides of Durand Lineinfo-icon, waiting for the reopening of the border and resumption of transit traffic.
