Thousands of Uruzgan needy families get food aid

TIRINKOT (Pajwok): Thousands of poor families received food aid in Dehrarod district of central of Uruzgan province on Tuesday.

The district administrative chief, Abdul Manan Alizai, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the aid was provided by WFP and ANCC for 4225 floods affected families.

Alizai said each family was given 50 kilograms of flour, three kilograms of cooking oil, five kilograms of pulses and five kg of salt.

He added the needy families were indentified in a survey, but the assistance was not enough as the families needed other basic facilities.

Malik Sharifullah, one of the aid recipients, said they lost everything because of the war.
