Separate Taliban attacks cause 28 civilian casualties

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Separate Talibaninfo-icon attacks have resulted in 28 civilian casualties in Faryab and Ghazni provinces, officials say.

Fourteen civilians were killed and injured in three separate attacks, confirmed Karim Yourish, Faryab spokesman.

He added 11 civilians were killed and injured in gunfire in the Kohi village of Qaisar district. A roadside bomb killed one child and wounded another in Almar district.

In the same district, the police official said, a 70-year-old man was shot dead in Sufi village.

In southern Ghazni province, one civilian was killed and 13 others were wounded when the rebels fired a rocket at Shaliz and Arz villages in the provincial capital.

Tariq Aryan, spokesman for the Interior Ministry in Kabul, said that nine of the casualties were members of the same family.
