‘Discussion to develop regional consensus for peace begins’

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Tuesday said that securing others nations’ cooperation in the fight against coronavirus, regional and global consensus for peace, seeking support for humanitarian ceasefire remained its top priorities.

MoFA Spokesperson Geran Hiwad told reporters here that getting cooperation and assistance from other countries in the fight against coronavirus learning from their experience in this field, developing regional and global consensus for peace and attracting the support of regional countries and international community to establish a humanitarian ceasefire were the ministry’s top priorities.

He said Acting Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar talked to with foreign ministers and ambassadors of around 10 countries through video call or telephone to share these priority and they also assured their cooperation.

Steps also taken to attract support for healthinfo-icon, keeping open the commercial ports for trade and transit to ensure the flow of materials needed by the people, repatriation of stranded Afghans in neighbouring countries, addressing the problems of Afghans in other countries, processing the documents of Afghan prisoners in Iran and Saudi Arabi.

He said regarding the food safety of the people steps had been taken and 5,000 tonnes of wheat reached to the country.
