District police chief, 7 ALP men gunned down

GHAZNI CITY/PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Police chief for Rashidan district of southern Ghazni province and seven security forces in northern Baghlan province have been killed in insurgent attacks, officials said Sunday.

Ahmad Khan Seerat, Ghazni police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News 1st Corp. Ghulam Abbas was on his way to the district when came under Talibaninfo-icon militants attack late Saturday night.

He said Abbas along with a bodyguard were killed in the nighttime attack.

He said the Shahbaz security check-post commander Dauat was also killed in the attack in Ghazni city, the provincial capital, late on Saturday night.

Elsewhere, four Afghan Local Policemen were killed and their commander was wounded in a Taliban attack in Baladori area of Pul-i-Khumri city, the capital of Baghlan province.

An ALP official, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News four of their colleagues were killed in the attack in the area.

The Taliban have not yet commented about these incidents.
