KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Hanif Atmar on Wednesday had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on a regional consensus for peace and a humanitarian ceasefire.

Atmar tweeted, “A pleasure to speak to HE @MevlutCavusoglu Turkish FM, who welcomed the agreement for inclusive government & we talked about strengthening regional consensus for peace and a humanitarian ceasefire.”

The minister wrote: “We remain enormously grateful to our Turkish friends for their continued support.”

Following months of political wrangling, President Ashraf Ghani and Dr. Abdullah signed a power-sharing deal to ending a deadlock.

In line with the agreement, Abdullah will lead the High Council of National Reconciliation. The council will have executive authority.
