Human catastrophe if quarantine ignored, warns Dr. Feroz

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Public Healthinfo-icon Minister Ferozuddin Feroz visited the Afghan-Japan Hospital in Kabul on Wednesday and warned of a catastrophe in weeks to come if quarantine measures were not implemented.

Feroz expressed his satisfaction over services provided in the Afghan-Japan hospital and admired the sacrifices and efforts of medical personnel, according to a statement from the Ministry of Public Health.

The minister asked media not to pay head to publication in social media regarding lack of health services in the hospital and added if they did not trust the ability and capacity of Afghan-Japan hospital, they could visit the hospital.

He also talked about the surge in testing capacity and said 2,000 tests were conducted in 24 hours in the country and efforts were being made to extend testing of coronavirus to other laboratories in the county.

Feroz also expressed concerns over people’s carelessness against coronavirus and warned of human catastrophe if public ignored quarantine and precautionary measures.

He said 492 people contracted coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of coronavirus patients in the country to 8,145 with 186 deaths and 930 recoveries.
