KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghan government on Wednesday ridiculed Taliban’s supreme leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhund’s Eid message, saying the rebels were yet to stop killing the Afghans.

Mullah Haibatullah Akhund has called the Doha agreement as a victory, asking the United States not to let anyone scuttle the deal.

In a message ahead of Eidul Fitr, Haibatullah greeted Afghans on the upcoming festival and spelled out his stance on recent developments in the country.

Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the Presidential Palace, said the Talibaninfo-icon leader’s message was baseless as they continued to kill Afghans even in the ongoing holy month of Ramadaninfo-icon.

He said the Taliban message would have been valuable had they declared peace in Afghanistaninfo-icon.

He wrote, “Taliban continue their violence and killing our countrymen but they still talk about their peace pact singed in Doha.”

On the other hand, National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Javid Faisal also said in his twitter account that Taliban’s supreme leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhund has urged his fighters to continue violence and killing of Afghans.

According to him, the Taliban would greet the Afghans with giving violence in gift on Eidul Fitr.
