KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The level of bilateral trade has returned to normal, the Afghanistaninfo-icon-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce chief said on Wednesday.

Syed Hossein Salimi said coronavirus-related restrictions on imports into Afghanistan, which impacted trade between the neighbours, had been lifted.

Fars News Agency quoted him as saying that conditions for importing goods into the country had returned to normal.

Salimi said visas were being issued to drivers of Iranian trucks for entry into Afghanistan and there was no problem for them in transporting goods.

On the reopening of the Dogharun border, the trade leader said Afghanistan was an important country for Iran in terms of exports.

Iran's exports to Afghanistan largely include consumer goods and food items. The annual trade volume between the two countries is in the region of $3 billion.
