2.5m recover from coronavirus pandemic worldwide

Kabulinfo-icon (Pajhwok): About 2.5 million people have recovered from the coronavirus worldwide, but 3, 58000 have died from the pandemic, according to data from the John Hopkins University.

After emerging in the Wuhan city of China in December, COVID-19 has spread to at least 200 countries and regions across the globe.

In the first few months, the pandemic killed mostly Chinese people, but now the disease is now spreading rapidly in Europe and the United States.

Information from the John Hopkins University of the United States shows the number of COVID-19 cases soared to 5.8 million on Thursday.

At least 2.5 million people have recovered from the coronavirus, but 358,000 have died from the pandemic.

The United States has been hit the hardest by the virus, with more than 1.7 million people infected and 1, 20000 dying from the disease.

In Brazil, the coronavirus has infected 415,000 people and killed 26,000 others. In Russia, 37,000 people were infected 4,000 killed.

Spain, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Turkey and India are among the countries where many people have been affected by the pandemic.

The virus is spreading rapidly in Afghanistaninfo-icon as well, with 13,000 people infected so far. The death toll, MoPH says, stands at 230 and recoveries at 1200.
