580 new coronavirus cases registered in Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon recorded 580 new positive cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, mostly in capital Kabul, the Ministry of Public Healthinfo-icon (MoPH) said Tuesday.

The new 580 positive cases were confirmed from 1,072 suspected cases during this period, pushing the nationwide tally to 13,036. Wahidullah Mayar, spokesperson for the MoPH said.

He said 235 people died in Afghanistan from Covi-19 infection while 1,209 had recovered.

Among the newly registered cases, 322 were in Kabul, 139 in Herat, 27 in Panjshir, 22 in Balkh, 21 in Farah, 20 in Paktia, 15 in Faryab and 14 in Parwan provinces.

According to the health ministry, out of total 13,036  positive incidents across the country, 5093 were in Kabul, 2,105 in Herat, 947 in Balkh, 636 in Kandahar, 630 in Nangarhar, 419 in Paktia, 297 in Takhar, 279 in Baghlan, 211 in Ghazni, 189 in Badghis, 188 in Laghman, 179 in Samangan, 161 in Logar, 160 in Wardak, 158 in Kunar, 152 in Panjshir, 142 in Parwan, 131 in Jawzjan, 138 in Farah, 117 in Kunduz, 112 in Faryab, 77 in Sar-i-Pul, 63 in Nimroz, 77 in Paktika, 61 in Khost, 58 in Bamyan, 45 in Ghorinfo-icon and 45 in Helmand provinces.

Also, 57 positive cases of coronavirus were reported in Kapisa, 38 in Zabul, 27 in Daikundi, 20 in Badakhshan, 5 in Uruzgan and four in Nuristan provinces.
