Kabul governor wants residents to stay indoors

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Concerned at continued public movement, the Kabul governor on Thursday urged residents to stay indoors to avert a public healthinfo-icon crisis in the capital.

Mohammad Yaqoob Haidari told a press conference here that people should agree to the guidelines from the Ministry of Public Health to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are committed to helping the masses and work day and night to achieve this goal. At the same time, we urge the masses to exercise caution to prevent a possible catastrophe,” he remarked.

The official noted conditional activities in Kabul had resumed in line with a cabinet decision and necessary preparations had been made to implement it.

Haidari added higher educationinfo-icon institutes were not ready for reopening in the current situation because it was impossible to enforce social distancing in schools and universities.

He warned the government would extend curfews if the people continued to violate health guidelines.
