PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The business community in Pakistaninfo-icon’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has renewed its call for keeping the Durand Lineinfo-icon open round the clock.

The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) asked the government to end the coronavirus-prompted lockdown and allow businesses to remain open seven days a week.

SCCI President Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz issued the call during video conference, which he chaired in Peshawar on Friday.

Sitting and former leaders of the forum, as well as representatives of other bodies, attended the meeting, which urged the immediate of income tax refunds to the business community.

The participants demanded the 24/7 opening of the Pak-Afghan border and removal of hurdles in way of bilateral and transit trade between the two countries.

If the government did not meet their demands, the business leaders warned they would announce a future course of action at a press conference on June 2.
