KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Around 1,894 wagons of food, fuel and construction materials have been imported in the past 10 days to meet people’s basic needs in quarantine days, the Ministry of Transport said on Monday.

The materials, including more than 100 tonnes of commercial goods, were imported through Hairatan, Aqina and Torghondai ports, a statement from the ministry said.

The wagons were loaded with 37,000 tonnes of oil, more than 11,700 tonnes of liquefied gas, over 12,100 tonnes of wheat, 41,000 tonnes of flour, nearly 2,000 tonnes of ghee, 2,600 tonnes of non-food items and 2,600 tonnes of construction items.

The ministry promised to ensure the supply of more such food and non-food items to the people during the ongoing quarantine period, the statement concluded.
