Saudi Arabia donates textbooks, vehicles to MoE

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Saudi ambassador to Afghanistaninfo-icon on Thursday provided assistance worth $500,000 to the Ministry of Educationinfo-icon (MoE) in Kabul.

A statement from MoE confirmed the receipt of the assistance, including nearly 100,000 Arabic language books and eight vehicles.

Saudi Ambassador Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Khalidi handed over the assistance worth $500,000 to Education Minister Dr. Mirwais Balkhi.

Al-Khalidi said the aid had been provided by the King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSRelief) for the education system of Afghanistan.

It quoted the Saudi diplomat as reaffirming continued assistance from the kingdom to the war-hit country’s education sector

Meanwhile, Balkhi thanked the Saudi government for providing the assistance, saying the textbooks would be distributed in western Herat and eastern Nangarhar provinces.
