Kabul rally wants all Iranian culture centers closed

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Hezb-i-Musharikat Milli party workers on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration in Kabul and asked the Afghan government to close all cultural and social centres of Iran, barring its embassy and consulate generals.

They alleged the neighbouring country was using its cultural and social facilities for spying in the country.

Iranian security forces opened fire on a vehicle with some Afghans aboard in the Yazd province.

The car caught fire, leaving three Afghans dead and some injured. One the injured persons is apperantyl asking Iranian security personnel for water in a video clip circulating on the social media.

The incident followed torture and drowning of some Afghan migrants by Iranian security officials in the border area one month earlier.

Afghan Ambassador in Iran Abdul Ghafoor Liwal visited Yazd province and held meetings with Iranian officials and Afghans injured in the incident.

President Ashraf Ghani during a cabinet meeting on Monday ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to resolve the problem through diplomatic channels.

Tens of followers of the Hezb-i-Musharikat Melli party, led by Najibullah Kabuli, marched from Shah-i-Naw Park to the Iranian Embassy in Kabul against the latest incident.

The protesters chanted slogans like deaths to Iran, death to Khumenai and Akhunds of Iran.

“The Iranian dictator regime often commits serious crimes against the people of Afghanistaninfo-icon and they recently committed a heinous, inhuman and un-Islamic act against the Afghan migrants by torturing and drowning them into the Harirud River. They also burned some Afghan migrants in a car near the Yazd province recently,” said Kabuli.

“Despite the fact that Iran calls itself an Islamic country, but the burning of Afghans and the appeal for water by dying Afghan expose the level Iranian regime that how it is anti-Islam and humanity,” he thundered.

“Our party has decided to close Iranian cultural and social centres that mainly serve as intelligence facilities for the Iranian military, they should be closed by Afghan government,” he said.

He added their party had conveyed to the government through a letter that only Iranian embassy and consulate generals should be allowed to operate.

Referring to a question posed by Pajhwok reporter, Kabuli said currently nearly 600 Iranian cultural and social institutions were active in 34 provinces and demanded closure of all of them.

Kabuli warned if the government failed to closed Iranian intelligence facilities in the country, his party would take initiative after two months of deadline and close all these facilities.

Protest against Iran underway in different provinces after two unpleasant incident against Afghans in the neighboring country.
