PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon will export 250 truckloads of goods to Pakistaninfo-icon on a daily basis in line with a decision by officials from the two neighbouring countries.

Afghan and Pakistani border officials, who met in Torkham on Wednesday, also agreed to allow a similar number of vehicles carrying Pakistani exports to enter Afghanistan.

The decision on the increase in bilateral trade quantum via Torkham would be effective from June 22, according to a Pakistani official, who attended the meeting..

Afghanistan’s exports to Pakistan had temporarily been stopped on March 16 when Pakistan shut all its borders with that country to contain the coronavirus spread.

But in in early March, Pakistan resumed exports to Afghanistan and the transportation of goods under the Afghan Transit Trade Treaty. It also allowed the resumption of supplies to allied forces stationed in Afghanistan.
