PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa businessman community has welcomed the government’s decision to resume trade with Afghanistaninfo-icon via the Ghulam Khan route.

Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, a proponent of increased Pakistaninfo-icon-Afghanistan trade, praised the government’s decision on allowing import and export.

He said the imposition of a ban on trade with Afghanistan due to the coronavirus pandemic had badly impacted the business community and other people associated in both countries.

Sarhadi hoped bilateral trade six days a week would be allowed via the three border points would reduce the burden on Torkham.

He also welcomed permission for an unlimited number of trucks, with Afghan Transit Trade and bilateral trade items, to cross the border on a daily basis.

Sarhadi hoped trade resumption would help in creation of livelihood opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people, who were suffering due to curbs associated with the coronavirus.
