20 Afghans killed by Covid-19 in 24 hours, says MoPH

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least 324 new positive cases of the coronavirus have been detected in different parts of the country over the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Public Healthinfo-icon said on Tuesday that 98 cases were registered in western Herat province, 92 in Kabul, 40 in Balkh and 18 in Paktia.

According to a statement from the ministry, Nangarhar saw four new Covid-19 cases, Ghazni 39, Badakhshan 19, Laghman 10, Kunar 3 and Zabul 1.

Of the 20 deaths over the last 24 hours, five coronavirus-related fatalities happened in Balkh, six in Logar, five in Badakhshan, two in Kabul and one each in Paktia and Nangarhar.

The ministry said 419 people recovered from the disease, taking the number of total recoveries to 9,260. Total infections have reached 29,481.
