Afghanistan’s Covid-19 infections rise to 29,715

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least 234 new positive Covid-19 cases were detected in different parts of the country in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s overall tally to 29,715.

A statement from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said a total of 651 individuals underwent tests during the period and 234 of them tested positive for Covid-19.

Kabul recorded 124 new cases and western Herat province saw 34 infections. At least 24 cases were registered in Bamyan, 10 in Nangarhar and eight Badghis, the ministry said.

At least 21 people lost their lives to the pandemic and 609 others recovered in the past 24 hours. The number of deaths thus reached 639. At least 9,869 have recovered so far.
