Covid-19: First international flight lands in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): As international flights being resumed, the Afghanistaninfo-icon Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) said 350 passengers were brought home from Istanbul to Kabul by a Turkish airline on Wednesday morning.

International flights from and to Afghanistan stopped due to the spread of Covid-19 few months back.

Mohammad Naeem Salehi, ACAA spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Turkish airlines brought 350 passengers from Istanbul to Kabul – the first international flight since the virus outbreak in the county.

He said all passengers intending to go to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), European countries and the United States should have visa or residence permit to board an international flight.

Salehi assured the Aryana and Kam Airlines would practically start their international flights with required health measures in place.

He said all necessary precautions  were adopted at all airports of the country and flights would restart under special conditions as per IATA and ICAO guidelines.

He urged all passengers to follow healthinfo-icon ministry guidelines in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic during their journey abroad.
