KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghan Public Protection Force (APPF) General Director Gen. Khoshal Sadat has referred five officials of the state-owned security firm to the Attorney General Office (AGO) for their alleged involvement in corruption.

Besides providing security services in the country, the APPF works under the umbrella of the Ministry of Interior to ensure the security of huge public projects and the private sector.

Gen. Khoshal Sadat wrote on his Facebook page that he had introduced five officials to judicial organs, including the construction director, general manager of logistics and the uniform director.

“Based on our initial investigation, the officials are involved in misappropriation of 30,000 military uniforms and other military equipment -- a 208 million afghanis project. They also committed negligence and misuse of authority,” he added.

Gen. Sadat said the APPF was responsible for maintaining security for major national projects and the private sector in line with the president’s vision.

In order to build trust, the APPF priority was to combat corruption so that the entity could emerge as a well-equipped security force.

On the issue, Pajhwok contacted AGO spokesman Jamshid Rassouli, who said information about the five individuals would be shared with the media later on.
