Pakistan to open more crossings for trade with Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Islamabad will open Angor Adda and Kharlachi crossings on the Durand Lineinfo-icon on July 12 after necessary arrangements are put in place by both sides, Pakistaninfo-icon’s Special Representative for Afghanistaninfo-icon Sadiq Khan said on Thursday.

In a tweet, Ambassador Khan said that Torkham, Chaman and Ghulam Khan crossings had already been opened for trade since June 22.

“Pakistan will open Angor Adda and Kharlachi border crossings for trade with Afghanistan… the crossings are likely to become operational on 12 July. Torkham, Chaman and Ghulam Khan Crossings are already open since 22 June,” Khan wrote.

Khan’s tweet regarding the opening of the new crossings comes at a time when US Special Envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad is in Islamabad to meet Pakistani leadership on the Afghan peace process.
