Covid-19 infections in Afghanistan rise to 32,672

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least 348 new positive Covid-19 cases were detected in different parts of the country in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s overall tally to 32,672.

A statement from the Ministry of Public Healthinfo-icon (MoPH) said a total of 868 individuals underwent testing during the period and 348 of them were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Kabul recorded 168 new cases while Bamyan saw 33 infections. At least 28 cases were registered in Herat, 23 in Balkh, 20 in Badakhshan, 14 in Badghis, 12 in Nimroz and nine in Daikundi.

Seven cases were reported in Baghlan, six in Helmand, five in Maidan Wardak, five each in Panjsher and Ghorinfo-icon, four in Paktia, three each in Nangarhar and Takhar, two each in Zabul, Kunar and Parwan and one in Laghman.

Seven people lost their lives to the pandemic and the number of deaths reached 826.
