Jamiat-i-Eslah calls for removal of hurdles to peace

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Jamiat-i-Eslah Afghanistaninfo-icon political party on Sunday asked all sides in the peace process to remove all hurdles in the way of peace, complete the prisoner swap and begin intra-Afghan talks.

A statement from Jamiat-i-Eslah Afghanistan received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the party as a civil movement wanted all warring parties to address problems facing the peace process and the government and Talibaninfo-icon release the rest of prisoners to pave way for intra-Afghan talks.

It added early establishment of peace in the country would help stop bloodshed of more Afghans in the ongoing conflict.

The statement said Jamiat-i-Eslah Afghanistan condemned assassination of Islamic scholars and other influential figures in the country and asked the government to take urgent measures for prevention of these incidents.

“We ask organs concerned to arrest the perpetrators of Mualvi Niazi and other Ulemainfo-icon’s assassination as soon as possible and punish them so no more incidents of the kind happen in future,” the source said.

 “We ask government officials not to allow anyone to mock the values of our people or create mistrust and divisions. We condemn such acts and want such incident to be legally approached,”  Jamiat-i-Eslah concluded.
