32 killed, 122 wounded during Eid truce: AIHRC

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghanistaninfo-icon Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) on Wednesday said 154 people suffered causalities in violence during the three-day ceasefire across the country.

In a statement, the AIHRC said despite declaration of truce from the warning parties, 38 civilians were killed and wounded on average on a daily basis.

It added before day one of Eidul Adah, at least 32 people were killed and another 122 wounded in seven insecurity incidents nation-wide.

The human rights commission added that these incidents occurred in Logar, Herat, Uruzgan, Ghazni and Nangarhar provinces by the Talibaninfo-icon militants.

It added a few days back around 104 people suffered causalities as a result of the Pakistani forces attack in Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province.

Earlier, the Ministry of Interior Affairs on Monday accused the Taliban militants of causing casualties to dozens of civilians by breaking their ceasefire promise.

On last Wednesday, first the Taliban declared a three-day truce in respect to the EidulAhah and later the government followed suit.

In a statement, the MoI said the Taliban inflicted casualties on 60 civilians during the 3-day Eid ceasefire.

It added at least 20 individuals were killed and 40 others wounded in the mentioned period by the Taliban.
