KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The crime branch chief and the deputy head of the 8th police district of Kabul have been sacked for alleged dereliction of duty, an official said on Thursday.

Tariq Aryan, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the two officials of the 8th police district were fired in compliance with President Ashraf Ghani’s order.

He added Ghani recently visited the 8th police district to evaluate the security situation there. The president was not satisfied with the security situation there and tasked the MoI to dismiss the two officials.

Aryan said the ministry fired the crime branch chief and the deputy head for the 8th police district on the basis of the presidential order.
